Mirage took place on March 17, 2023 at Epping Forest (Greater London & Essex) and featured the works of: Trinity Duong, Katherine Hong, Eva Liao, Emma Pierson, Ryan Steuerman, Amina Seid Tahir, Tamara Vepkhvadze, and Lucy Wilde.

Mirage was curated by nine artists with different disciplines who were brought together by their commonality of being on an exchange program in London. Discussing the temporality of our stay in the city, we decided to mimic this experience into our exhibition by choosing an obscure location to exhibit our work for a one-day show. Playing on the idea of ephemerality, we decided on the name Mirage to conceptualize giving viewers and ourselves a disorienting experience, and wanting for people to stumble upon the work if they were in the right place at the right time.
With the ambition of wanting to explore a new city and push away from exhibiting work in an institutionalized white-wall gallery, the artists took their work into nature to challenge their curatorial skills of adapting with and to the elements.

Below, are photos of the artists after a two-hour critique in the pouring English rain. Naturally, the sun came out as soon as the crit was finished.
