The Sympathy For The Devil zine was created by collaging images and handwritten text to provide viewers with context about the tapestry and the Satanic Panic. This hard copy was scanned, printed, hand-folded, and left for taking, much like the early processes and distributions of zine culture. The back of the unfolded zine provided a numbered map and key to all the songs and words used to create the sigils. At the showing of this tapestry, the zines were laid out on a black fabric covered plinth, meant to mimic an altar, and viewers were encouraged to take one to keep, as though they were taking an offering. Based on the feedback received during the critique, the map created an immersive and interactive experience for the viewers, allowing them to feel as if they were a part of a ritual in which they had to find and decode all of the symbols.
Zines were distributed as a press release for Sympathy For The Devil, which was displayed at Chelsea College of Arts in London on May 4, 2023.
